365/365 - A New Perspective on Flickr.
The journey has come to an end.
Where to begin. I’ve been thinking about this day and been looking forward to it, for such a long time. To do The 365 days project has been one of the best decisions I’ve taken in my life. It hasen’t been easy; saying anything else would be a terrible lie. It’s the hardest mission I’ve ever accomplished.
More than a year ago, I started the 365 days project. I had looked through Alex Stoddard’s and others 365’s dozen of times, and wished to start my own so badly, but I didn’t have the time, because of other my passion - freediving, which I practiced every day and therefore used up all my time. One Wednesday, I “unfortunately” injured my knee, which meant I couldn’t practice freediving or any other kind sport for months. I asked myself the question, “So, what should you do now Marcus?!”. All my life I’ve been pursuing big passions and goals, which have taken up my spare time completely. Since I couldn’t do any kinds of sport, after my injury, I decided to start a project - the 365 days project.
I started the project, because I wanted to make something out my the day, but also to pursue my newly profound passion. I wanted to learn, to discover the world of photography and the tell stories through a camera.
It’s crazy to think about what have happened throughout the last year (+ few months). I’ve grown so much in every single way possible, and I’ve experienced more, this year, than ever before. The fact that this growth is documented in photos is, is very fantastic to me, because I’ll be able to review my growth anytime.
I’m indescribably thankful for taking on this project.
I don’t think, or I’m absolutely sure, I haven’t thanked you guys enough for the support, I’ve received the last year. I can’t describe how thankful I am. There have been shitty situations, the last year, where life has sucked and I just wanted to escape to the other side of the earth, but you guys really helped me; you’ve put a smile on my face every day, and motivated me to continue making art. I’ve gained a lot of amazing friends through this beautiful photography community, whom I’m especially thankful for! I’ve even been so lucky to meet some of them in real life, which have made them some of my best friends this very day.
I’m sitting here, sentimental, writing this. This project has taught me to see the world with a whole new perspective. I suddenly see possibilities in everything. I see the surrealistic objects floating through the sky, growing up from nothing but dirt, amazing creatures jumping from the water. The sky isn’t just blue anymore, the forest isn’t just green and the light isn’t just… Light. My vision is nuanced and changed forever. It’s beautiful.
So, I guess this has come to an end. It feels so unreal writing this… But hey, this adventure isn’t finished yet. I’ve looked forward to this day for a long time, because I didn’t have enough time per day, to make what I really wanted. I want to spend weeks or months on single photos. I’m happy, that that now will be possible.
Now… It’s time for some sleep and afterwards probably revive my social life. Goodnight. See you soon.

yesismore asked: how do you make a living as a photographer? do people come to you with work they want you to do? or do you have to go try to find it?
At the moment i’m still studying, so i don’t focus that much on earning money through my art. But yes, all the photojobs i get, is from people who asks me.
364/365 - A Journey on Flickr.
A bit more than a year ago I started the 365 days project, and it has been a journey. I started this project partly due to a knee injury, but also due to my newly profound passion, which I truly wanted to pursue. I started the journey unprepared, on a cold night, with just a bit of experience in my bindle and a lantern full of hope.
A Journey which is just about to come to an end.

btw. the photo was taken in the recently felled “forest”, which I’ve taken all of my forest-photos in…

a very tricky photo to take because of the looong exposure and the amount of editing (very little)

Sorry for not uploading anything for 2 weeks, ive been extremely busy with photojobs and school..
I’m currently hired by the Langkær High School to do some conceptual art. The pieces i’m doing has to have some link to the faculties taught at the school or the life of a student. This one has an obvious link to music, but besides that it tells an even further story about the life of a student.
Further description about the project later..
